Albiana.

Dolenjska is a hilly sub-region of main region Posavje on southeast part of Slovenia, which is surounded with rivers Sava from the east and river Krka from the west. Dolenjska is known as the coolest part of country for vinegrowing. With its uniqueness, diversity and great potential, Dolenjska is acknowledged as region of future who can grow top quality grapes and tremendous wines with great potential thanks to ripe high acidities which are one of signature characteristics of Dolenjska wines.

The estate on which our vineyards are growing, was bought by Albin and Ana Žaren in 1936. First, it was mixed farm, but now has been a wine estate for over 20 years. Today, the third generation is continuing the tradition. Jernej Žaren's love of the land paved the way for him on the farm. Today, with his wife Lidija and three children, Jernej dedicates himself exclusively to viticulture and winemaking. First wines under ALBIANA brand were labels of Modra frankinja 2016 and rest of white and rose wines of the 2017 vintage. The name ALBIANA pays homage to those two who were the pioneers of everything we do today - ALBIN and ANA

Albina winery is currently cultivating over 20 hectares of vineyards or more than 90.000 vines. For highest quality possible, vineyard selections for Albiana brand have low yields. In process of grape maturing they are carefully monitoring each variety individually, so that they can determine the best time of harvest for each style of wine that they want to produce.
